A summer barbeque is planned for September 6th at the Waterloo pub, Nash. Tickets will be available at the next Supporters Group meeting on August 31st. Obviously this event will only run if there is enough interest.

Elite League Pairs

The Supporters Group will be running a trip to the Elite League Pairs at Swindon as has been mentioned previously in this section. This meeting is on a Sunday which will make it easier for most people to go and watch and come home at a reasonable time for work the next day.

We'd love for as many of us to go as possible, so if you do find yourselves missing the smell of methanol and oil leave a message here or get in touch with any of the committee members that's myself, Helen, Dixie, Paul ...

If anyone has suggestions as to what should be discussed i.e. away trips have a good think and we can bring it up at the meeting or the committee meeting which will be held a few days earlier prior to the actual meeting.

Helen has now had prices through from Devon Shirts on prices of the Polo Shirts and T Shirts that members ordered on Sunday at the meeting.

T Shirts are priced at �6 each

Polo Shirts are priced at �8.50 each.

Devon Shirts need confirmation by tomorrow on the exact numbers and sizes. Could anyone buying a shirt confirm by sending me a PM with size, colour and which type of shirt is required.

These shirts will hopefully be ready by the next meeting which will be Sunday 15th June ...

Inaugural Supporters Club Meeting

The first official supporters club meeting is to take place at The Royal Mail Pub on Sunday afternoon 3pm start. It's hoped as many regulars as possible can get together so we can sit down and discuss how to keep the name of Newport Speedway alive whilst we are in the intirim time at the track.

Well unfortunately due to lack of response we are going to have to call off Saturday nights GP get together. As Helen said maybe we should meet up first and see if they can get some sort of committee together to make official supporters club announcements and meetings. It's very difficult at the moment when we don't actually see people on a regular basis.

I'm going to see if we can still use the Royal Mail pub even if it's only a handful of us.

It has been proposed that a WASPS SUPPORTERS GROUP be formed, primarily to keep us all together in the absence of any gatherings at Newport.

It was thought that we could have a regular meeting to have a chat and maybe plan away trips, social gatherings etc etc.

We are currently looking for a suitable venue to meet up regularly with possibly a dart board.

Any suggestions about anything would be gratefully appreciated, and it is hoped we can get as many people together to join this ...

Gave a fantastic display yesterday in the Slovenian Grand Prix. Seeing him racing alongside of Zagar in one race reminded me of 'comments' made between Reading and Newport supporters of which rider would turn out to be the best, well Zagar may of been in the Grand Prix series longer than Puk but Puk showed last night that his very professional attitude has got him in this season and for quite a few seasons if he keeps up with the brilliant form he's showing just now.

Withdrawal from the League

Sadly there has been an early season casualty from the League. Pinny has let me know that he won't be coming to all the home meetings this season so has withdrawn his name from the league. This leaves OST without a partner....so I was thinking, maybe Seb could be your partner now?
